Ladies Bible Studies at Land's End (Weekly)

Karen Harpole conducts a Wednesday morning 9:30 AM & evening 6 pm Bible Study. Different studies are offered each fall and spring. All are welcome and it is a mixed denomination group.

Yoga at Land's End (Weekly)

The Land’s End is now hosting stretch yoga by Danelle Blanton at the Links at Lands End pavilion and pool (weather permitting).  Yoga classes are all-inclusive & are for members & non-members of the golf course.  $10 Drop Ins  $90 Punch Card for 10 classes

Ladies Mahjongg Game Day (Weekly)

The Land’s End Mahjongg Game Group meets Wednesday’s from 12:00 – 3:00 PM at The Links at Lands End clubhouse.  For more information and to be added to the list contact Debby Keenan at

Ladies Game Day (Monthly)

The ladies of Land’s End now meet on the third Thursday of every month at 12:00PM for a fun afternoon of games and great conversation! You can find them at the community room at the Land’s End Fire Department. Bring a snack to share, along with your favorite game. The game day usually lasts until 4:00 PM but you may come and go as you need.

Neighborhood Ladies Luncheon (Monthly)

The Ladies Luncheon meets usually on the third Friday of each month, the role of host, or hostess’ for each luncheon is a volunteer from the residents of the Lands End.  Some prefer potlucks, providing entire meals, or snacks & games in their homes, others prefer meeting at a local restaurant, the hostess’ usually provides tea and desserts for all in attendance.  This is a great way to get to know your Land’s End neighbors.  Contact Di Honey at 405-570-0087 or if you would like to join the email group.

Ladies Bunco at Land's End (Monthly)

The Land’s End Ladies Bunco group meets on the first Tuesday of each month, gathering at 6:30 PM and play begin’s at 7 PM.  Each player takes turns hosting and there is a $10 buy-in for prize money.  The games finish up at 9 PM.   For more information and to be added to the substitution list contact Elizabeth Clement at

Men's & Women's Golf (Weekly)

On Tuesday & Thursday each week there is a friendly Men’s golf group that plays starting at 9 am and a Women’s golf group that starts directly following at 9:30 am.  All are welcome, just meet us at the clubhouse.  See you there!

On Tuesdays each week there is a friendly pick-up game of “Shootout” at 5:30pm with an entry fee of $10 for both members & non-members.  All are welcome, just meet us at the clubhouse.  See you there!

On Thursdays each week there is a friendly pick-up game of “Scramble” at 5:30 pm for both members ($9) and non-members ($20), plus $10 for the pot.  All are welcome, just meet us at the clubhouse.  See you there!

The LE book club met at the home of Carolyn McGuire to review the novel "Orphan Train", written by Christina Baker Klein.  All agreed this facinating story about two orphan girls, separated in time by a generation, was wonderfully well written.  Both girls endured...

Lake Country Neighbors

Lake Country​ Neighbors is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation composed of women of all ages and backgrounds living around the Lake Fork area who enjoy having fun, making friends, and doing charitable and civic projects in Rains, Wood and surrounding counties. East Texas Food Bank

East Texas Food Bank, needs volunteer help (approx 50) from 8:30 am until noon.  They have all types of positions from packaging food boxes to desk-work to loading cars and it will be held at Bud Moody Stadium in Quitman.  The great news and plan is for the food bank to distribute in Quitman on the third Wednesday of every month in the future.  Individual volunteers can go to to register online to volunteer for distributing the food.  You just click the calendar event for Quitman, create an account and sign up.  Please pass this on to any other groups you feel may want to help and also for those of you that know could use the food.  Hope to see you there!

UT Health Quitman
UT Health Quitman is a modern hospital located in nearby Quitman. UT Health Quitman offers a Level IV Trauma Emergency Room, Support Level III Stroke, 25 Private Rooms for In-Patients, and Respiratory Services. The full range of technology available includes X-Ray, Ultrasound, CT, MRI, Bone Density, Stress Test, and a 3D Mammography Bus. Patient care includes Cardiac and Pulmonary Rehab, appointments with general physicians, and specialists on assigned days.
The Wood County Healthcare Volunteers program provides assistance to UT Health Quitman in a variety of ways, including greeting and assisting patients and visitors, and performing tasks that lighten the load of the professional staff members. Currently we have 21 volunteers and are looking for more.
